Back in February Black Hole Recordings announced that ‘In Search of Sunrise’ - the holy grail of trance music compilations - would return in early summer of 2010. What followed in the fraternity at large was a period of intense, near-frenzied speculation. With Tiësto departed, who, you asked, would be taking over the ISOS reins?
The answer presents both a natural and instinctive progression for the legendary series… Richard Durand.
First tipped by Tiësto back in 2006 as an artist ready to break, Richard Durand has spent the last 4 years running on trance music’s fast-track. From the early days of his ‘Lethal Industry’ & ’Flight 643’ rebuilds, he has moved to become one of the most consistently dependable producers and DJs on the scene; crafting and shaping his own model sound & style. Now, in this almost ceremonial passing of the baton, Richard has accepted the role as ‘In Search of Sunrise’s new master and commander.
As is customary with each release in the 'In Search Of Sunrise' series of CDs, key dates will be scheduled at selected venues in every continent around the globe for an exclusive 'In Search Of Sunrise World Tour'. Integrity Artist Management are now in the final stages of discussions for the last remaining tour dates, with In Search Of Sunrise shows rising in the east in Asia and scorching a path across club land to the west coast of North America, while stretching from Amsterdam in the Northern Europe to Australia in the southern hemisphere.
The release of the 8th album in this much loved, universally respected and best selling CD series is front page news and much hyped by dance fans the world over. Aside from working on the 'In Search Of Sunrise' project, the fires have still been burning in the Richard Durand studio in recent weeks, with two massive singles due for relase this month. First up is a debut collaboration with JES whose stunning vocals provide the perfect backdrop to Richard's new club smash 'N.Y.C.' which has been road tested to massive reactions in recent weeks at events such as Trance Energy, Miami WMC, City Moves and Webster Hall in New York City itself.
Fans of Richard Durand will we well aware that a huge remix project is never far away in the release schedule, and May will see the arrival of Richard's fourth official remix of Tiesto and a simply monstrously massive remake of the legendary 'Traffic' single which is one of the standout attractions on 'Magikal Journey', the definitive compilation of Tiesto tracks, past, present and future.
